Please read this instruction manual carefully and use the product safely and correctly. Wrong use may cause damage to the camera on the inside from water leakage, and repair may not be possible. [. . . ] shall not be responsible for damage caused by improper handling. Remove the eyecup from the digital camera. The Case allows you compose your shots in the pickup viewfinder. To improve the view of the pickup viewfinder, remove the camera's eyecup before loading it in the Case. En CAUTION : Be sure to remove the eyecup before loading the digital camera. Otherwise, the rear lid of the Case cannot be closed tightly causing water leakage. Remove the filter from the digital camera If a filter is attached to the lens of the digital camera, remove the filter before loading the digital camera in the Case. CAUTION : The digital camera cannot be loaded in the Case while the filter is attached to the lens. Be sure to remove the filter before loading. E-16 Prepare the digital camera. Compatible digital camera This product (PT-E02) is exclusively for use with the E-330 Digital Camera. Checking camera operation Refer to the digital camera's instruction manual for details on how to make sure the camera is operating correctly. Open the Case. (1) Unlock the four buckles on the Case. Do this by unlocking buckles that are diagonally opposite to each other. Unlock the first pair (either A or B in the illustration on the right), and then unlock the two remaining diagonally opposite buckles. A B B A (2) To open a buckle, hook your finger on the lower side of the tip of a buckle lever as shown on the right, and lift the buckle up gently. En (3) After unlocking the four buckles, hold the rear lid of the Case firmly with both hands and open the buckles all the way to separate the rear lid from the front lid. E-17 Attaching the zoom ring provided with the optional waterproof port on the lens To control zooming (or to control manual focusing when the mounted lens is a 50 mm macro lens), attach the zoom gear, provided with the optional waterproof port, to the zoom ring on the lens. For details on attaching the zoom gear, refer to the optional waterproof port's instruction manual. Lock lever Zoom gear The lock lever is used to lock the zoom gear. CAUTION : · Confirm that the zoom gear is locked firmly with the lock lever. · Confirm that the zoom gear is correctly installed on the lens by referring to the Waterproof Port's instruction manual. Attaching the optional zooming/focusing gear(PPZR-E03/04/05) to the lens For details on attaching the zooming/focusing gear, refer to the zooming/focusing gear's instruction manual. En E-18 Attach the digital camera to the camera table Before loading the digital camera in the Case, remove the camera table inside the front lid of the Case and attached it to the digital camera. (1) Attach the camera table to the tripod seat on the bottom of the digital camera by means of the tripod screw hole on the digital camera. (2) The camera table has fixed top-bottom and front-rear orientations. Refer to the illustration on the right to ensure that you attach it with the correct orientation. Front Top Bottom Rear En E-19 Insert the digital camera in the Case. Load the digital camera in the Case after checking the following: · Is the digital camera turned OFF?· Have the strap, lens cap and filter been removed from the digital camera?· Is the camera table provided with the Case attached to the tripod screw hole on the bottom of the digital camera?· Has the viewfinder eyecup of the finder of the digital camera been removed?(1) Pull out the zoom dial and mode dial on the Case (pulling out the mode dial also pulls up the power switch lever) so that they do not get in the way while loading the digital camera. Set the power switch lever and eyepiece shutter lever as shown below. (Power switch lever) (Eyepiece shutter lever) En Set to the 6:00 o'clock position. (2) Remove the TTL cable connector cap from the hot shoe connector on the top left corner of the inner side of the front lid of the Case. Connect the hot shoe cable to the connector. Remove the cap by turning it counterclockwise. CAUTION : · When screwing in the hot shoe connector clamping screw, place the Case upside down. Be careful not to drop the Case. E-20 (3) Place the camera table with the attached digital camera on the camera table base in the Case. Do not load the combination by force, but load it gently so that the digital camera does not interfere with parts inside the Case. After loading the digital camera, connect the hot shoe cable to the camera's hot shoe. Once the digital camera is fully inserted, turn the lock lever on the camera table to lock it. Gently push the Case's mode dial down and confirm that the zoom dial can smoothly control zooming, the power switch lever can turn the digital camera ON/OFF, and that the mode dial can control the mode dial of the camera. En CAUTION : · Read the Waterproof Port's instruction manual carefully to ensure that you correctly attach the zoom gear to the lens's zoom ring before loading the digital camera. · If the zoom gear on the lens is not engaged properly with the gear on Case's zoom dial, zooming cannot be controlled. Even when the gears are meshed properly, the lens zooming range may be restricted by the way the digital camera has been loaded. Read the Waterproof Port's instruction manual carefully and set the zoom gear appropriately. [. . . ] (3) In order to avoid deformation of the O-ring when the Case is not used for a long time, remove the O-ring from the Case, apply a thin coat of the special grease, and store the O-ring in a clean plastic bag. For reuse, confirm that the O-ring is free of damage and cracks, that it has sufficient elasticity, that the surface is free of stickiness and other abnormalities, and use it after applying a thin coat of the special grease. Excessive application of grease does not improve the waterproof function or the permissible withstand pressure. (4) When using an external flash, check that the hot shoe cable is connected to the digital camera. [. . . ]
